Radio and Television Credits Paul began his Radio Broadcast career while attending Rush-Henrietta Sperry High School. In 1975, the school took to the airwaves with a brand new station (WRHR) which began broadcasting news, music, and sporting events to the community. Paul was one of the first persons ever on-the-air at this new facility. Working as the stations Program Director and doing an on-air shift sparked a lifelong interest and love affair with Radio. (WRHR Radio was eventually bought by BOCES, and is today licensed as WBER-FM) After graduating from High School in 1977, Paul earned his first commercial job in radio at WJBT in Brockport before moving to WCGR/WFLC in Canandaigua.
In 1981, Paul enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as
a Radio Operator/Flight Crew member onboard an AWACS E-3A Sentry
aircraft, stationed at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City. His flying
duties took him all over the world. Before his discharge in 1985,
Paul had racked up over 5,000 Hours of Flight Time, and was awarded

successful run in Radio working at some of the top stations in the
market including WPXY-AM/FM, WCMF, WVOR, WBBF-AM (Morning Show
Host), and WKLX-FM (Morning Show Host). He’s been heard on many
local as well as nationally produced Radio Commercials. In 1991,
Paul left a full-time job in Radio to return to school to complete a
college degree, and enrolled at the State University of New York
College at Brockport. While attending college, he hosted a
Satellite Radio Show that was heard on over 40-affiliate stations
around the country called “Nighttime Live.” He also did a stint at
Buffalo’s 100,000 Watt Powerhouse station WMJQ-FM. He graduated in
1994 with a B.S Degree in Communications/Broadcasting. Following
graduation, he continued his successful career in Radio at WHAM as a

five years until 1999 before being offered a Station Manager
Position at Fairport Area Community Television, where he is still
currently employed. After landing his Television Station Manager
position in 1999, Paul continued his Radio career at WBEE-FM working
weekends and the afternoon drive show Paul began working for Laser Sound in 1991, and eventually bought the company in 2002. He now leads a staff of other highly talented radio broadcast and mobile DJ’s. He has personally entertained at hundreds of events including Weddings, and private parties of all types. Even though he owns the company, he still gets numerous requests from clients each year to personally perform at their event, which he gladly accepts. His personal client evaluations over the years have been glowing, and his drive and determination at Laser Sound has helped the company become one of the best in the area. Personal Interests
On a personal note, Paul developed such a love for flying while in
the Air Force that he eventually earned his own Pilot’s License. In
1997, he took those flying skills back to the Air Force Auxiliary,
and after extensive training earned his Air Force Wings. He now
flies Search and Rescue Missions as a Pilot, and also performs the
duties of Communications and Public Affairs Officer for his
squadron. He currently holds the rank of Captain. Paul is also an
avid FCC Licensed Ham Radio Operator (Extra Class), and has been

the world from his station, and works to mentor those interested in
the hobby. Paul volunteers as a News Anchor for a program called
“This Week in Amateur Radio” which is heard all around the United
States and the world via Shortwave Radio. Finally, Paul is a
classic car enthusiast, who owns a multiple award winning 1970 Chevy Chevelle that he proudly displays at local Cruise Night and Car

OK! Boss wants a Bio on me, where do I begin? I can in all honesty say that what I did in my life was not anything that the average person would consider great shakes. However I can say this one thing that in itself is something that not many can say “ I did exactly what I wanted to do” I look at my old year book and read all the outlandish things most all of my classmates were going to do after graduation, Wow! To this day I have seen no Brain or Heart Specialists at any of my reunions. (I did go to one) I remember watching my guidance counselor remove a book from a high shelf and Blow the dust off the cover that read Careers in Broadcasting. That was my goal I was a real radio, music nut. I would listen to the tunes but, my real love was for the guy playing the music the voice, the humor, the individuality. That was me. Sure I went to college, learned to stay up all night, how to drink, you know the important stuff. I did so well in that area of studies that I was drafted into the military. The college accused me of impersonating a college student so off I went to save the free world. I thought I could get into some kind of service oriented radio unit. Funny thing is that the microphone they handed me looked a lot like a rifle. Well long story short I made it! John Wayne I was not but, I am hear to talk about it. Semper Fi! Got my first radio gig in 68 PT Barnum nighttime radio guy Burlington Vermont WDOT almost soiled my tightie whites I was so nervous during my first shift, played the wrong side of Day Dream Believer by The Monkeys to this day I recall that every time I hear the song. Had to do a show called The Buck-Board in Burlington. Had to read the accomplishments of local deer hunters over the past weekend. I am not a hunter so when I read that Joe Blow from Winooski Vermont shot a 6 point buck, I would say that Joe Blow shot a deer and gets 6 points for that shot. I was awarding points I thought people got points for shooting deer. The sponsor called up the station manager, he explained what I had done and the sponsor started laughing he just kept laughing uncontrollably, all was forgiven he could not get mad at someone that stupid! Well! That was 20 or more stations ago in the words of Johnny Cash I’ve been everywhere man, I’ve been everywhere. Radio was the life of a gypsy, if you work for a large broadcasting company you get transferred from one city or state to a company station all the time. If you work for a small station you just get booted out on your butt. That’s when I am glad in learned to stay up late and drink in college. Radio stations always give the DJs tee shirts with the station call letters on them for us to wear to advertise, I have always wanted to cut them all up then sew them back together as one big pair of long johns, then all the stations that fired me I could use that part of the tee shirt with their call letters as the rear trap door!!!! I am a Rebel in radio, loose cannon, individual, I have been a rule breaker, I have institutionalized a number of program directors in my career I still get cards from them written in crayon. I have been fired more times than the Quaker Oats Cannon yet! I had fun! When radio changed it left myself and many of my radio pals looking for a new way to have fun! Radio these days is run by a computer, and people that sound like computers no interaction with people whatsoever? Being a Mobile DJ is the next best thing. I like people and for the most part they like me. I love music (all kinds) truth to be told am rather shy, yet being surrounded by people and music brings out the Real Irish humor in me, a gift from my Mom. I used to run a mobile DJ service but, once again my Irish Mon did not raise no fool, Let Paul (THE BOSS) do all the work, I go out have fun, play the music and make a few bucks in the process. That is where I am at. It’s been 40 years since I did not know my ass from a pair of antlers in Burlington, I could list the stations I have haunted but, all that would be is alphabet soup to anyone reading this bio, I have done and learned a lot, Yes! “ I did exactly what I wanted to do” |

Mike hails from Baltimore, where
he did his first stint in broadcasting just two weeks before
graduating from high school in 1971 (it's the same high school
featured in the original movie Hairspray). He relocated to Rochester
in 1980, doing stints at a number of stations here, in various
formats. Briefly he left the area in 1995 to work at WLEE-FM in
Richmond, VA, only to return to Rochester (after literally dozens of
pleading phone calls) in 1997. Mike spends his free time attending
car shows and various events around town with his charming wife, De.
"The car shows are really my thing," says Mike, "but De enjoys them
as well, and she just loves the sixties Mustangs and some of the
early Fords as well." Mike and De are also avid, rabid Buffalo Bills
